I have several tattoos – how many patch tests do I need?

At your first visit to out clinic LaserYou Burnham, you will have a comprehensive consultation where we will check your medical history and suitability for laser tattoo removal. Importantly we will also do what is called a patch test on your tattoo. This is effectively a treatment on a very small area of your tattoo. It may be small but it is extremely important for us to assess how you heal to the laser. If you have several tattoos we only need to do a patch test on one. Following the patch test you can be treated in full after a few days. The area which has been treated by the patch test will not be treated for another eight weeks in line with normal laser tattoo removal procedures.

How long do I need to wait to get rid of my brand new tattoo?

So your new tattoo has not turned out the way you wanted. You are now certain you do not want to keep the new tattoo. The good news is we can treat new tattoos. However you will first need to wait 8-12 weeks for the new tattoo to heal. After that you can have your first consultation and patch test with the laser machine. Please note, although the tattoo may look like it has healed, the underlying skin layers may not have fully healed. Attempting to laser an area which has not fully healed, will result in complications, therefore it essential not to rush into treatment. For professional laser tattoo removal, contact www.laseryou.co.uk tel 01628 633075. We treat clients from all over the U.K- many who travel some distance to receive treatment with the PicoSure Laser – the laser which WILL give you the best results.

Free Laser Tattoo Removal ?

Prior to extensive cutbacks, the NHS occasionally approved tattoo removal treatment. The guidelines stated that doctors could only refer or recommend patients for tattoo removal if the tattoo was causing “significant distress or serious mental health problems.” Facing criticism and looking to cut back on expenditure, free tattoo removal on the national health service has all but disappeared. The message seems to be that you pay for your mistakes!

The NHS does advise on Tattoo Removal. Note: they only recommend laser tattoo removal , not creams. At LaserYou, we not only use the most advanced technology for tattoo removal, but our treatments are also carried out by medical professionals who have what worked in the NHS. Our clinic is located in Burnham, SL1 7HX just off the M4 between Windsor and Maidenhead.

Will tattoo laser treatment cause scarring?

At LaserYou we use a professional laser tattoo machine operated by medical professionals. In fact our machine is one of the most advanced laser tattoo removal machines available and our technicians follow a medical code of practice. All of this means, there should not be any scarring caused by the laser machine, although as with any procedure there is always a slight risk – this is more likely to occur if aftercare instructions are not followed. Note, any existing scars will remain following laser treatment.
